During the summer of 2009, a group of residents from the Town of Oconomowoc and the Town of Merton gathered to discuss the possibility of incorporating the area surrounding Okauchee Lake as a village.
Representatives from the State Incorporation Review Board were invited to attend the meeting to explain the incorporation process and the criteria required to qualify as a "Metropolitan Village".
On May 3, 2010, we met with the Town of Oconomowoc Board of Supervisors seeking their support for incorporating the areas within the proposed boundaries. While the Town would prefer that the entire township be incorporated, it has been clearly established that the rural areas of the Town would not be approved for incorporation.
In July, members of the incorporation steering committee met again
with the State Incorporation Review Board to review our progress
and to seek clarification of the Statutes of Incorporation as they pertain to us.
In December of 2010 we held our first informational meeting for the
general public. The meeting was very well attended and many thoughtful
questions concerning village incorporation were asked. Answers to those
questions can be found on the FAQs page.

We have added a new "Comments" feature to the website. This is the place to share your thoughts about the proposed village, the Town
of Oconomowoc, or anything that comes to mind.
We invite you to make this the go-to site for all of our community communications and exchanges.
